Teknopark İstanbul

As one of Türkiye's largest technology development zones, Teknopark Istanbul hosts hundreds of R&D centers and companies operating in sectors such as aviation, space, maritime, and advanced electronics, with a particular focus on the defense industry. Established officially in 2010—following the laying of its foundations by a decision of the Defense Industry Executive Committee in 1987—Teknopark Istanbul leads the national innovation ecosystem by transforming scientific knowledge and technology into value-added products. It operates through a partnership of founding stakeholders: the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), Airport Operation and Aviation Industries Inc. (HEAŞ), STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., and Istanbul Commerce University. Activities conducted under the leadership of Teknopark Istanbul General Manager Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol reinforce the institution's vision of becoming an "Advanced Technology Center" and contribute to Türkiye's technological independence.

Within the Teknopark Istanbul Cube Entrepreneurship Office—which provides incubation, acceleration, and laboratory infrastructure to early-stage technology startups—entrepreneurs benefit from a wide range of support services, including mentoring, consultancy, investor meetings, and tax advantages. The R&D centers and companies located at Teknopark Istanbul form a robust R&D ecosystem alongside Türkiye's leading defense industry organizations, such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and TUSAŞ. Thanks to the tax incentives and infrastructure facilities provided by its status as a technology development zone, Teknopark Istanbul stands out as a prominent technology hub in Türkiye for both domestic and foreign investors.
